Made in Asheville, North Carolina; the dichroic glass used in this pair of drop style earrings was developed by NASA in the 1960s for different scientific uses. The colors are created from multiple layers of microscopic sheets of different metals. Dichroic glass creates an optical surprise that changes the color of the metal depending on the angle of light that is hitting it. Each sheet of glass is carefully formulated with dichroic glass and fired in a 1400 degree kiln several times. Then the glass is cut and polished into earrings. The colors in these earrings are a variety of pink and if looking at them at an angle there are blue colors that sparkle and shine with an iridescent quality. Features a metal earring back with plastic pad.
NOTE : Since these are handmade, slight variations in coloring can occur.
Dimensions : approximately .375" in diameter
