Mini Fan Earrings - Cranberry Red

Made in Asheville, North Carolina; the dichroic glass used in this pair of drop style earrings was developed by NASA in the 1960s for different scientific uses. The colors are created from multiple layers of microscopic sheets of different metals. Dichroic glass creates an optical surprise that changes the color of the metal depending on the angle of light that is hitting it. Each sheet of glass is carefully formulated with the dichroic glass and fired in a 1400 degree kiln several times. Then the glass is made into earrings that have sterling silver findings. The colors in these earrings are a variety of cranberry reds and pinks that  sparkle and change whenever they move.
